Barcode Settings
ScanWay can generate barcode images from either the Barcode or SKU fields from product variants. Make sure that the values in these fields are valid values for the type of barcode being generated. If an invalid value is used, no image will be generated.
ScanWay can also generate 4 types of barcode images. The default is to generate Code 128 barcodes, but if you have UPC or EAN barcodes that have been registered through an organization like GS1, the app can also generate UPCA, EAN13 or EAN8 barcodes.
Generating All Barcodes
If you need to populate all of the barcode fields for your store’s variants, ScanWay has a couple of options. Generating barcode values will replace all existing barcode values for all variants, and can’t be undone.
By default, ScanWay will generate barcodes that match Shopify’s variant IDs. These IDs are unique, 14 digit numbers that should print nicely in Code 128 barcodes. You can also check the Randomize barcode values checkbox to create randomized, 12 character, alphanumeric barcodes.
Generating All Barcode Images
If you’re looking to generate barcode images for all variants in your store, use this option. The images generated will be based on the saved settings from your shop’s barcode image settings.
