Print Barcode Labels

The Barcode Inventory Management app makes it simple to print barcode labels for your products, whether you’re labeling new inventory, updating existing stock, organizing bins, or preparing for warehouse operations. You can print labels one at a time, in bulk, or for multiple product variations — all using customizable label templates.

Why Print Barcode Labels?

Printing barcode labels directly from your catalog allows you to:

  • Generate scannable, accurate barcodes for inventory and order picking
  • Print labels for products and variations, including SKU-specific barcodes
  • Use custom label sizes that match your printer and label sizes
  • Improve warehouse workflows like receiving, picking, stock counts, and restocking
  • Reduce errors by removing manual data entry

Labels can be used with scanners, mobile devices, or any system that reads standard barcode formats.

Finding Items

When you are ready to print barcode labels for your SKUs, you need to search for those products or variations in the “Catalog Search” input bar. The search should find your search terms in any field of the product or variation. The results will appear in a list below the search bar.

If you expand the Search filters section, you’ll find filters for your search. You can search filters by in stock only products by turning the In Stock switch on. You can also select a category from the Category dropdown to find products from a specific category.

When a search has been completed, you’ll have a couple of options for selecting and deselecting products. There’s a Select All Searched Items button to select all of the products and variations that have been found. If you have selected items, you can deselect everything by clicking the Deselect All Selected Items button. You can also individually select items by clicking their checkboxes in the search list below.

If a barcode exists for an item that has been found, there should be two buttons on the right side of the listed item. Clicking on the barcode button will result in a raw download of the barcode’s image. If you would prefer to design and print barcode labels from other software, you can use this image.

Clicking on the “Preview Labels” button will take you to a page where you can see a specific item with any saved templates. When you select a template from the templates list, you’ll see a preview of how the item will appear with that template. If you have any questions about whether or not an item’s information will fit on a template, this is where you should check.

You can also print this preview, if you’re looking to just print the one item.

Printing Templates

After you’ve selected which items you want to print barcode labels for and clicked the “Print Selected Barcodes” button, you’ll see some options for printing your labels. You’ll need to pick a template (templates can be managed in the Manage Barcode Templates section), and set how many of each label you want to print.

There are three convenience buttons to set the count of labels for each item to 0, 1 or the quantity of the items currently in stock. Otherwise, you’ll need to click on each item and edit the count of labels you want for that item.

You can also print templates for items that don’t have barcodes, but a warning will appear for each product or variation that doesn’t have a barcode generated. In cases where a template intentionally doesn’t have a barcode, this warning can be ignored.

Tips for Best Print Results

  • Choose the right template for your printer type — sheet templates for laser/inkjet, roll templates for thermal.
  • Test print a single page or label before bulk printing to ensure alignment.
  • Don’t scale your print — printer software will often try to scale pages down to 97-98% when a full page is used without margins. If you see this in your print preview, adjust it back to 100%.
  • Keep barcodes large enough to scan easily — adjust the barcode height in the template if needed.
  • Reprint labels after major inventory or SKU changes to keep everything up to date.
